Picking The Best Baby On
Board For Your Vehicle
Welcome to
our baby on board signs website! These
stickers have been used for generations in
order to curb road rage and encourage the safety or kids and
infants that are in the vehicles. Most people know that when
they see this type of a sign or sticker on the back or side of
a vehicle that it is quite likely that a child
might be present on board. Its inhumane to imagine that this
wouldn't make more individuals cautious as I personally don't
see how anyone could live with themselves for injuring a
child.
The 'On board' signs
usually resemble a regular sign in its design. Most of them
have a bright, large yellow background with black
lettering which is clearly visible from a distance. They stick
to the window, body or bumper of a car and that allows for the
buyer to place them where they think that these will be most
easy to notice. The size of this product usually runs at about
5 inches and is placed on the rear window of the car in order
to let the emergency service know (in the event of a crash)
that an infant might be involved in the accident. This is quite
important, as signs children are small they might be trapped
and not as visible to the team as adults would be.
This would be very bad, as you might
imagine. For example, lets say that you have a car accident and
are unconscious when the medics arrive. No one notices your
child, as they get trapped in a foot well, and the car is
impounded with them in the vehicle leading to an unnecessary
death. The one thing that could have prevented this scenario
was spending a couple dollars on a sign or sticker stating
"child on board."
There are also many parodies available
which came out of the huge popularity of these signs. The few
that I have seen are "dog on board",
"mother-in-law in trunk", "baby I'm
bored" and even "little person on
board." I think that these sort of things are
fine as long as they do not look too much like the real thing
as this causes some people to develop sign blindness and pay
less attention to them. This is a symptom of being exposed to
the same thing over and over such as commercials on TV or
within magazines. You might have noticed that you skip through
them, and I bet if someone would ask you if you recall a
certain "ad" the answer would be "no."
One of the most popular "baby on
board" signs within the media is within the Simpsons
cartoon in the episode called "Homer's barbershop
quarter." Within that one episode, Marge purchased this
type of sign saying that it might prevent others from
"intentionally ramming our car."
An urban legend states that the sign was
made after the US based designer's child was killed in a car
accident. This has not proven to be the truth, as these signs
were marketed in Europe way before this story supposedly took
place and also the sign was not thought up in the
States.
Some of the newer models are also
available with suction cups or as
magnets. As opposed to the stickers, neither
of these two will leave any traces if you take them of. This
was one of the reasons that some people did not want to
place them on their more expensive type of vehicles. Since this
is no longer the case, there are no excuses why you shouldn't
keep your child safe and get one of these baby
on board signs on your car right
away.
